The room was great very high standanrd and perfert for our three days with great terrace overlooking river. Thereception people were outstanding in every aspect. The resturant was a bitter disappointment. The one staff member had no enthusium and spent a lot of time watching the televeision so much so that we gave up on dessert. The winde slelection if you could call it was was lacking. Most of the slection was one bottle that was already open. We wanted at bottle. The menu was lacking on various produect under the pretense that they were reveiwing the menu accordking to the so called waitress The steak was over cooked. Was surposed to be medium rare but was medium at best. An extremely dissapoining wend to a great three day stay at the hotel
See previous question the resturant was a bitterly dissapoiting experirence

The stay was very very good. The hotel was unique, tidy offered incredibly nice breakfasts and had an amazing location easy to overlook because everything else was fabulous. Location: the venue was just next door to the central business area of Gisborne, a maze of corridors and town centre, river, shops and restaurants. Had nice dainties at Muirs Bookshop & Cafe, located steps away from the hotel. The staff were attentive and knew how to help.
